"How Diabetes Works"

Group Classes and Meetings

Optimum health is not achieved just by procedures and prescriptions. Education is a critical key, and at DiabeVita it plays an important role in our relationships with patients and the community. We offer a variety of classes and educational experiences at our office and in the neighborhoods at health fairs, churches, grocery stores, restaurants and other locations.

Once a month we offer a free open house and “meet the doctor” session at our offices. Here we present our views on the treatment of diabetes and other chronic diseases, a chance for prospective patients to meet and ask questions of Dr. Hilts, and to check out our offices. We announce these sessions in advance through our advertising in the Scottsdale Republic, and post the dates on our News and Events page. From this page you can also find dates of educational sessions, screening tests, and other discussions at locations other than our office.

The education component of your treatment is of particular importance to those with diabetes and their families. To supplement the limited time for education during office visits, and as a low-cost alternative for those without insurance, we offer a series of classes on diabetes management every month. These classes are open to patients and their families, and are on an appointment basis. There is a fee, but for registered patients each class includes personal one-on-one time with Dr. Hilts. For more information, see our News and Events page. or contact us.
