The Medical Director and lead practicing physician at DiabeVita is Dr. Helen Hilts, a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience in Scottsdale and Arizona as a family doctor and urgent care physician. She has been named by her physician peers as a Valley "Top Doc" for 2010. Dr. Hilts has moved her full-time practice to become part of the Honor Health Medical Group at Chaparral, 5111 N. Scottsdale Rd, 85250. The office can be reached at 480-882-7330.

But it also is a disease that patients can successfully manage through education, medication and lifestyle changes for decades of normal, complication-free health. As a diabetic herself, Dr. Hilts understands the many challenges patients with diabetes face in everyday life and knows what it takes to keep diabetes under control.

Dr. Hilts utilizes a slide presentation on "How Diabetes Works" with most of her group classes and public talks in the community, and learn more about diabetes through our Resource Library.
